Glassprint: Conference programme announced

The eighth edition of GlassPrint, Europe’s only dedicated event for the decoration of glass, returns to Düsseldorf, Germany on 27-28 November 2019. Attracting an international audience of glassmakers, decorators, end users, suppliers and brand owners, the recently announced conference programme is now available at www.glassprint.org.

Heidelberg expands cloud-based applications

As part of its digital transformation, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is systematically expanding its digital business models. As part of this strategy, the company has now acquired software start-up Crispy Mountain GmbH of Mainz, Germany, which offers Keyline, a cloud-based management platform for print businesses. The aim is to work with Crispy Mountain to expand the Heidelberg "HEI.OS" platform as a new industry platform for the printing industry.

First Geoman e:line in operation

The Siegener Zeitung – founded in 1823 – is the first publishing house to start production with the new GEOMAN e:line. The press was designed to the individual needs and economics of the newspaper house. With numerous configurations available, the Geoman e:line can be upgraded and retrofitted at a later stage. This allows manroland Goss to offer its customers long-term, flexible and future-proof solutions.

David Ellen, President of Domino Digital Printing North America, has been promoted to the global position of Divisional Director of Domino’s Digital Printing Solutions division. This follows the recent announcement that Robert Pulford, previously Managing Director of the division, has now taken over as CEO of Domino Printing Sciences.

Located in Aarau in Northwestern Switzerland, Mittelland Zeitungsdruck AG operates one of Switzerland’s most efficient coldset printing sites. As the portfolio not only includes daily and weekly newspapers but also high-circulation customer magazines for trade and industry, the technical possibilities in postpress processing were significantly expanded in 2018. With the help of Ferag, the company also wants to make the individualization of insert collections possible in future.

Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is celebrating 70 years of expertise in the development, assembly, production, and application of Stahlfolder folding machines from the Ludwigsburg site under the motto “Feel the Experience”. During this time there has been consistent progress in postpress – from the handcrafted folding machine of the past to today’s highly automated and digitally integrated folding machine.
