Bobst reaches milestone with sale of 300th Visioncut

Bobst, supplier of equipment and services to packaging and label manufacturers in the folding carton, corrugated board and flexible materials industries, has announced that it has sold its 300th Visioncut. The flat-bed die-cutting machine was purchased by Adams, a corrugated packaging manufacturer, based in Poland. The company is a long-standing Bobst customer, already owning five flatbed die-cutters, two of which are Visioncut machines and a range of folder-gluers, plus the Masterflex-HD 5-color printing press.

Main equipment purchases for Metsä Group’s investment projects in Finland agreed

Metsä Fibre, part of Metsä Group, has agreed on the main equipment purchases for the new sawmill to be built in Rauma and the planned bioproduct mill in Kemi. The total value of the agreements is approximately EUR 500 million and their degree of Finnish content 70 per cent. In the spring of 2019, Metsä Group started the pre-engineering for investments totalling roughly EUR 2 billion, including the Rauma sawmill, Kemi bioproduct mill and the first phase of the modernisation of the Husum pulp mill in Sweden. With these investments, Metsä Group meets across the entire forest industry value chain the needs of forest owners and its customers even better than before.

Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is presenting its Print Media Industry Climate Report to the public for the first time. The company provides weekly updates on the development of print volumes in the packaging and label printing and commercial printing market segments. The representative basis of the anonymized data is formed by around 5,000 selected offset presses of all format classes at customers worldwide who are connected to the Heidelberg Cloud. The current data for around 50 countries per segment is determined from this and displayed on a world map.

Valmet will deliver a biomass-fired boiler plant to Tampereen Sähkölaitos Oy’s Naistenlahti power plant in Tampere, Finland. The new Naistenlahti 3 boiler will replace the Naistenlahti 2 boiler that has reached the end of its technical lifetime. The order is included in Valmet’s orders received of the second quarter 2020. The value of the order is approximately EUR 70 million. The boiler plant will be handed over to the customer at the end of the year 2022.
