Ferag at drupa 2024

From May 28 to June 7, 2024, the global print and media industry will gather at drupa 2024 in Düsseldorf. Ferag, provider of conveying and processing solutions, will take advantage of this event to present itself and its solutions. This year's trade fair appearance is all about the needs of its customers. The new strategic partnership between the Swiss family-owned company and MakroSolutions is an essential part of the alignment of Ferag's solutions, products and services.

The now even more comprehensive expertise in print finishing will be used specifically for innovative, effective and efficient solutions. Ferag will continue to offer a comprehensive portfolio of solutions for complete systems for the finishing and production of newspaper products, magazines, commercial products and direct mailing collections. In addition, the range of services for extending the service life of systems and the integration of used machines, subsystems and complete systems is being massively expanded. The focus is always on sustainably ensuring and increasing efficiency while optimizing profitability.

The focus on retrofitting, future viability and the sustainable extension of the service life of production systems is reflected in the exhibits on the Ferag booth, including two retrofits that are offered as an economically viable solution for extending the life cycle of existing machines:

  • Retrofit for Multidisc (MTD) winding and unwinding stations to replace obsolete control and drive components.
  • Retrofit for the bundle label printing (DBH) after packaging by replacing existing thermal paper printers with standard laser printers to reduce operating, maintenance and consumables costs.

Another focus will be on repairing defective electronic components that can no longer be procured. As the service life of the systems increases, such components become a major risk and, in the worst case, cause production delays and breakdowns. The Ferag repair table provides an impressive demonstration of how such electronic components can be expertly repaired and overhauled. In this way, Ferag makes a valuable contribution to the sustainable economic operation of existing systems.

New technologies developed by Ferag for the intralogistics division, which have now proven themselves, open up new business opportunities for our established customers. “We show how intelligent hybrid utilization approaches can generate added value in existing infrastructures and systems to open up new sources of revenue.”
