Toscotec starts up a complete tissue line at C. Y. P. Del R. S.A. in Colombia

Colombian tissue manufacturer C.Y.P. Del R. S.A. has started up a complete Ahead 1.8 tissue line supplied by Toscotec at its mill in Risaralda. This is a repeat order for Toscotec who has successfully installed a TT SYD Steel Yankee Dryer at the same mill on PM1 in 2021.

Heubach GmbH required to file for insolvency

Heubach GmbH filed an application today for the opening of regular insolvency proceedings over its assets with the competent insolvency court in Braunschweig and, at the same time, applied for the jurisdiction of the Braunschweig insolvency court as the group court for the German subgroup of the Heubach Group. The court is expected to appoint an insolvency administrator to examine the possibility of continuing business operations and possible options for restructuring and/or selling the business in due course.

Study shows skills shortage is a reality for nine out of ten German SMEs

German SMEs are suffering a massive skills and workforce shortage – a fact highlighted by a representative survey among SME decision-makers that the F.A.Z. Institute conducted for Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg). According to this survey, nine out of ten German SMEs do not have enough staff. Just under half (49 percent) said they were badly or very badly affected by the skills and workforce shortage.

Metsä Group collaborates with Andritz on textile fiber mill pre-study

Metsä Group has entered into an extensive cooperation with international technology group Andritz to conduct a pre-study for the first possible commercial mill producing the Kuura textile fiber. This new type of textile fiber, developed by Metsä Group’s innovation company Metsä Spring, is made from Finnish wood. The primary objectives of this collaboration are to develop a pulp pre-treatment method, smart ways to integrate textile fiber production into the various departments of a bioproduct mill, and automation for Kuura production.

Valmet to deliver a boiler rebuild to E.ON’s power station in Scotland, UK

Valmet will deliver a major boiler rebuild to E.ON’s Steven’s Croft biomass power station in Lockerbie, Scotland in the United Kingdom to secure trouble-free operation of the boiler for years to come. The order is included in Valmet’s orders received of the first quarter 2024. The value of the order will not be disclosed. The scheduled delivery period will be during the second quarter of 2024.
