Toscotec completed an energy-saving project at Cartiera del Vignaletto at its facility in Zevio, near Verona. The project features the complete upgrade of the cogeneration plant and air systems of the mill’s PM4 and PM5. The initial aim of the rebuild was to increase the energy efficiency of the mill’s operation by installing innovative equipment.

DS Smith has successfully started up an Andritz stock preparation line and reject treatment system at its mill in Porcari, Italy, including Europe’s largest FibreFlow drum pulper. Alessandro Romagnolo, Project Head at DS Smith, says: “The successful start-up of this line is an important milestone for our Porcari mill. The project demonstrates the strong cooperation between our team and Andritz. With the new system now in operation, we are able to efficiently process a wide range of recovered paper grades and reliably produce high-quality packaging papers from 100% recycled fiber.”
