New German Distributor for James Cropper

British master papermaker James Cropper has launched a new partnership with German distributor Roemerturm, which will see a selection of its luxury papers become available from stock in Germany Austria and Switzerland.

The collaboration has allowed Roemerturm to significantly enhance its product range for the packaging market, with the addition of a number of James Cropper’s popular papers and boards.

Among the premium ranges now available in the DACH region via Roemerturm are: Dolcelicious, a collection of food contact-approved papers available in 11 different shades; TacCard, a bright white board often used for packaging in the beauty and alcoholic drinks markets; Real Black, a premium non-carbon paper with high rub resistance; and Bowston Black, a solid dyed paper and board product made from 100 per cent reworked fibre.

Founded in 1885, Roemerturm is renowned for its high-quality fine and artist papers, and places a strong emphasis on the combination of tradition and modernity.

Norbert Spiegel, sales manager for the DACH region at James Cropper, said: “Roemerturm shares many of the same values as James Cropper, so was the natural choice when it came to selecting a new distribution partner. Crucially, both businesses have a rich, proud heritage, but are utterly focused on satisfying the modern customer and pushing boundaries.

“At James Cropper, we can develop virtually any paper, and we use our Tailor Made service to help bring our clients’ visions to life with bespoke creations. However, we’ve also built up an extensive bank of ‘off the shelf’ papers over the past 170 years and we’re thrilled that some of these are now available to a wider range of customers in Europe.”

Earlier this year, James Cropper used its appearance at Paperworld 2018, which took place in Frankfurt, to showcase the papers now available via Roemerturm, along with its revolutionary CupCycling™service.

Wolfgang Stemmer, managing director at Roemerturm Feinstpapier, said: “We are very pleased to have established an important collaboration with James Cropper. This has enabled us to significantly expand our range of packaging solutions, as well as our graphic and artistic paper products.”
