Sibress has extended the application range of the FADS3D measuring device with two helpful features that enable users to more specifically take into account specific requirements of the flexo plate material. Sibress FADS3D is an innovative measurement solution for two- and three-dimensional analysis of flexographic printing plates, which was launched on the market a few months ago.

Walki introduces Walki®Fibre Wrap

Walki has introduced a new recyclable material for non-food packaging that does not need demand separation of the coating prior to recycling. Traditionally, most paper-based packaging solutions are coated with polyethylene (PE). Some countries have considered these solutions to be recyclable if the plastic content is very low. With an increased demand from consumers, retailers, brand owners and e-commerce providers for fully recyclable packaging, Walki innovated a material that is recyclable without separating the coating.

Koenig & Bauer takes a significant step towards more sustainability

With expansion of its own green energy sources at the company headquarters in Würzburg, Koenig & Bauer is continuing the implementation of its sustainability initiative. The target set within the framework of the corporate strategy ‘Exceeding Print’ is for the group’s production facilities to achieve full carbon neutrality by 2030. The massive investments in photovoltaic arrays will allow Koenig & Bauer to cover a proportion of its power requirements on the basis of sustainable on-site generation. Besides contributing to climate protection, this also aims to boost the level of energy autonomy. The first array is already in use, and more photovoltaic and solar thermal installations are set to follow in the months to come.

Kodak: Speed upgrade for Magnus Q800

The speed of the high-performance Kodak Magnus Q800 Platesetter has been increased once again with T-speed Plus, offering a throughput of up to 84 B1 or 8-up plates per hour (pph). Kodak introduced the T-speed, then the world's fastest 8-up CTP system, about two years ago. The Magnus Q800 Platesetter can now output a plate every 42.9 seconds. This marks Kodak's third speed upgrade for the Magnus Q800 in four years, with more than 40% speed improvement over the former Z-Speed from 2018. The Magnus Q800 Platesetter can also image Sonora Xtra Process Free Plates at its new top speed.

Heidelberg: CFO Marcus A. Wassenberg moves to a new role

Marcus A. Wassenberg, CFO and Labour Director of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg), is expected to leave the company latest on 1 April 2023 and join the board of another industrial company. The transfer will take place by the best of mutual consent. In the period until his actual departure, Mr Wassenberg will work with the Supervisory Board and the Chief Executive Officer to ensure an orderly transition of his duties and responsibilities into new hands. The Supervisory Board plans to fill the position quickly.
