Durst Group presents “Open Software Initiative” and new “Smart Factory Portfolio”
The Durst Group, manufacturer of digital printing and production technologies, will present its new Open Software Initiative for the first time at Printing United 2025, taking place from October 22–25 in Orlando, Florida. The Open Software Initiative is a neutral, modular platform for software solutions designed to go far beyond Durst systems. It offers print service providers, resellers, system integrators, and OEMs access to powerful and flexible modules built on proven Durst software technologies, allowing seamless integration of third-party solutions – regardless of printer type or manufacturer. These modules are bundled under the umbrella of “Smart Factory”.
Global Graphics Software joins the Ghent Workgroup
The Ghent Workgroup (GWG) is pleased to announce that Global Graphics Software has joined the GWG as a vendor member. In addition, Global Graphics Software has gone through the certification process for its Mako Core SDK; both JAWS and the new APEX renderer are certified as fully compliant with the Ghent Output Suite v5. The Ghent Output Suite was created to ensure proper handling of all features of the ISO PDF/X-4 standard. The compliance confirms that Mako Core provides reliable and high-quality PDF processing for the most demanding applications.

Muller Martini demonstrated its innovative strength at the Hunkeler Innovationdays 2025, which took place in Lucerne from February 24 to 27. The three smart factory solutions presented are revolutionizing production processes in the digital printing industry for the long term.
With 6,800 participants and 120 exhibitors presenting 40 live solutions, the event grew slightly once again. “We are proud that, together with our partners, we were able to present pioneering solutions during the four days of the trade fair that will shape the future of the digital printing industry,” emphasized Bruno Müller, CEO of Muller Martini.
