Xeikon is set to make a bold statement at the upcoming Labelexpo Europe. The digital press manufacturer will demonstrate the full power of its label and packaging portfolio through live production, real applications, and smart automation flows.
Titon: A true game changer for label production
For years, converters had to choose: print with toner and get food safety, or print with UV inkjet and get durability. Xeikon’s Titon technology bridges that gap. With built-in resistance to heat, chemicals and abrasion, no varnish needed, Titon enables food-safe printing on substrates and applications that were once off-limits to toner. It also enables to simplify the production process of labels: wine labels printed on structured paper substrates no longer need a varnishing step since Titon toner makes the label rub and scratch resistant.
Inkjet at full speed … always
The PX3300HD in action. Speed is great, until image coverage brings it to a crawl. That’s where Xeikon’s PX3300HD shines. This UV inkjet press operates at a consistent high speed, printing five colors, regardless of image complexity or ink load, making it a true champion in overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). For example, automated nozzle compensation keeps the press running in quality mode at all times, resulting in fewer stops and maintenance actions.
At Labelexpo, the press will run live, showcasing high-quality jobs for premium markets such as chemicals, health & beauty and beer labels. It produces razor-sharp results and it’s a serious case for switching to high-performance inkjet.
Inline converting & embellishments
Inline finishing is not new. However, full digital workflows, where prepress, printing, embellishing, and die-cutting are seamlessly connected, remain rare. Xeikon is using Labelexpo to demonstrate that digital can support continuous production of finished labels, without offline bottlenecks. In markets with high SKU counts and short lead times, this is where digital gains ground.
Xeikon will demonstrate a fully integrated PX3300HD workflow at Labelexpo, from prepress to printed, converted labels, all in a single run. What visitors will see is just one possible setup. In reality, each configuration is tailored: if a laser die-cutter is needed, it becomes part of the line.
“Inline finishing only creates real value when it’s part of a connected digital workflow. That means no hand-offs and no rework. That’s what we’re showing at Labelexpo,” says Jeroen Van Bauwel, Xeikon’s Director of its Global Innovation Center. “The converters I talk to don’t ask ‘Can I use the press for inline converting ?’ They ask: ‘How does it connect with my workflow?’ That’s the shift we’ve seen in recent years, and it’s what we’ve designed our solutions for.”
Fast. Affordable. Sustainable: The Xeikon LX3000
Dry toner printing is often overlooked in sustainability debates, but Xeikon’s ECO Toner formulation, containing recycled PET, presents a different story. During Labelexpo, ECO Toner will run live on the Xeikon LX3000, printing direct thermal food labels at 42m/min.
From an operational perspective, this combination offers:
While many sustainability claims in the industry remain vague, Xeikon aims to back up its messaging with demonstrable material savings and a smaller carbon footprint per printed meter. More info on Xeikon’s sustainability initiatives here: https://xeikon.com/en/lps/sustainability-scorecard.
Workflow as a competitive edge
More than hardware, Xeikon will spotlight how automated workflows and real-world job setups can help printers maximize uptime and reduce manual effort. Visitors will see applications built to meet real market demands, from short runs to full integration, highlighting Xeikon’s holistic approach to digital label production.
New venue, new experience
With the event moving to Barcelona for the first time, Xeikon has embraced the local flavor: the booth is styled like a walkable ‘Rambla’ avenue, Barcelona’s most famous boulevard, lined with storefronts where visitors can browse applications for every segment: labels, flexible packaging, and more.
The Xeikon exhibit will take place on the Flint Group stand, whose Narrow Web division will also present its latest product innovations. Together, Flint Group and Xeikon will occupy their largest stand ever at a Labelexpo, over 700 square meters, bringing unmatched expertise and complementary technologies under one roof.
A long-time Labelexpo exhibitor, Xeikon sees the show as the defining moment for technology-driven innovation in the label industry. “This is where the future of label production takes shape,” says Danny Mertens, marketing manager at Xeikon. “We’re excited to showcase real, working solutions, not just machines, but full applications that solve converters’ actual challenges.”
The Label Trail: a guided experience across the future of print
Xeikon is also one of eight partners behind The Label Trail, a collaborative experience across six booths that shows how the entire label production ecosystem is evolving. The Label Trail focuses on sustainability, smart production, and end-to-end integration. For more info and registration, go here: https://pages.xeikon.com/xeikon-labelexpo-2025.
