Will-o'-the-wisp shining eyes, occasional bouts of fever, the first fine beads of sweat on the forehead. The glass in the hand trembles treacherously; trained observers can see the irregular, violent pulse. Adam's apples appear. Heavy breathing. Ink consumption increases.

Yes. Drupa is coming soon!

Ahead of this event – the first of its kind since 2016! – we have put together a comprehensive preliminary report for you in the current issue of P3. In addition to a basic overview of what to expect at the trade fair, this includes, among other things, an interview with Sabine Geldermann, Director drupa, Portfolio Print Technologies, a detailed look at the touchpoints packaging and sustainability (two absolute focus topics at Düsseldorf's leading trade fair in 2024) as well as detailed comments and contributions by knowledgeable experts from various areas of the printing industry.

Reporting has also already picked up speed on our websites. In the last few days in particular, many well-known manufacturers have put together extensive press packages to provide information about their appearances, new products and premieres at drupa. And of course, as usual, we will keep you up to date on further developments on a daily basis over the next two months. In any case, the anticipation is great, as is the expectation and hope for an exchange of experiences and new impulses, which the industry really needs.

And by the next P3 there will hopefully be a sustainable compromise between the federal association and the union on a new collective agreement. So far the negotiations have been tough, as already suspected by the end of last year. Recently there was even talk of a “provocation”...
