Lobbyism is a nice-sounding word for organized corruption.

(Gregor Stefan Heuwangl (*1963), German aphorist, poet and writer)

Dear readers!

FCK PLSTC BGS - a cloth bag with this (admittedly somewhat dubious) inscription was recently the bone of contention. The plastics lobby reflexively came up with an equally unnecessary response: “If it were about climate protection and CO2 reduction, it would say FCK PPR BGS.”

Of course I know what was meant, but why do we have to take this hand-kiss from an unqualified source? Thank you very much for trampling on the efforts of an entire industry in this way! In the meantime, researchers have found microplastics in the brain - but there was no mention of the snippets of a shredded newspaper in this context.

Enough of the polemics! The topics of environmental protection and sustainability require joint efforts - across all areas of private, public and business life! We cannot act in one role or the other. Family, workplace, private refuge - the human instance is always the same! This is not the only reason why I chose a somewhat unusual cover for this issue of P3: It features 17 individual motifs by the artist Stefan Szczesny, which illustrate and interpret the UN's 17 Global Goals for sustainable development. On September 12, 2024, the permanent exhibition “Sailing#Art4GlobalGoals” was opened at the Koehler Paper site in Greiz. Szczesny's 17 motifs were ceremoniously installed in various places at the site beforehand. I will take up the topic again in our U3 section.

In order not to impair the presentation, I have completely dispensed with headlines this time. As usual, the table of contents provides full information about the wide range of lovingly illustrated articles from all areas of our range of topics that we have prepared for you this time.

Have a great read & stay safe!
