The Gmund Award brings together cultures from around the world
What makes the Gmund Award special every year is the sheer number of international entries. This year, projects were submitted from 28 countries, including many European nations, as well as Japan, China, Australia and many others. On 29 April 2026, the Gmund Award 2026 was presented at the paper mill at Lake Tegernsee. In front of around 400 guests, the winners took to the stage to receive their awards from owner Florian Kohler.
Kodak announces the launch of new Sonora UltraXR Process Free Plates in EAMER
Kodak is proud to introduce the latest innovation in its portfolio of process-free plates: Kodak Sonora UltraXR. These new plates will replace Sonora XTRA-2 and XTRA-2 for Newspapers Process Free Plates in the EAMER region (Europe, Africa, and the Middle East), and Sonora XTRA-2 and XTRA-2 for Newspapers production in Europe will be discontinued.

Zipform to develop Dry Molded Fiber meat trays as PulPac licensee
PulPac has signed Australia-based Zipform Packaging as a new licensee of its Dry Molded Fiber technology, marking a step forward in scaling fiber-based solutions into demanding food packaging applications. The license agreement gives Zipform access to PulPac’s patented technology, enabling the company to develop and industrialize new fiber-based packaging solutions within its existing business and customer base.
Miraclon wins FTA Technical Innovation Award for Flexcel Prime Plate
Miraclon has been named a recipient of the 2026 Technical Innovation Award by the Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) for its Flexcel Prime Plate, a next-generation flexographic plate technology designed to deliver greater consistency, predictability and efficiency in the pressroom. The award, presented at FTA Forum & Infoflex 2026, recognizes technologies that advance the capabilities and performance of flexographic printing.

Heidelberg adjusts earnings forecast for the 2025/2026 financial year
Based on preliminary figures, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is on track to meet its projected revenue target for the 2025/26 fiscal year on a currency-adjusted basis. Order intake also continued the trend seen in the final quarters of previous years. In addition, Heidelberg continues to successfully implement the personnel and efficiency measures it has initiated and is achieving its fiscal year targets with regard to operating costs.
