Voith successfully starts up the complete production line 6 at Modern Karton in Turkey

Voith, Modern Karton and Harbin Electric International Company Limited (HEI) are celebrating the successful start-up of the new high-speed XcelLine PM 6 and the associated BlueLine stock preparation plant at the Zonguldak site in Turkey. The plant will produce up to 640,000 metric tons of recycled containerboard annually, thereby increasing Modern Karton's total production capacity to almost two million metric tons per year. This will consolidate the position of Modern Karton as one of the most reknown manufacturers of packaging papers in Turkey and one of the largest in Europe.

Valmet has received an order from Klingele Paper & Packaging for an automation solution to increase resource efficiency through digitalization at the Weener paper mill in Germany. The order comprises an integrated solution that combines three new automation products with the customer’s existing automation environment to reduce surface starch use and energy consumption. The order was included in Valmet’s orders received of the second quarter 2025. Its value will not be disclosed.

Green Bay Packaging has significantly improved operational reliability and detrashing throughput at its Green Bay, WI facility through the implementation of Voith’s OnControl.Pulping Detrashing solution. Installed and running consistently since March 4, 2024, the smart control system has automated key parts of the detrashing process and enabled more steady-state operations. The system has reduced process variability typically associated with standard timed-purges – resulting in greater process stability and consistency. Cleaner rejects and less equipment plugging were also observed benefits.

Toscotec to deliver energy-efficient complete tissue line to Grigeo Group in Lithuania

Toscotec will supply a new tissue line PM7 for the Grigeo Group’s facility in Grigiškes (Vilnius, Lithuania). This repeat order marks a significant milestone in a partnership spanning over 15 years between the two companies, following the successful installation of the PM6 tissue line in 2013 and previous smaller projects involving Yankee Dryers and Hood replacements on other machines within the group.

BO Paper Pisa, Brazil, orders complete recycled paper stock preparation line from Andritz

BO Paper Pisa has selected international technology group Andritz to supply a complete recycled paper stock preparation line with a capacity of 350 tons/day for its paper mill in Jaguariaíva, in the state of Paraná, Brazil. The new OCC (Old Corrugated Containers) line is scheduled to start operations in the second quarter of 2026.

Valmet to supply two papermaking lines to a customer in China

Valmet is to supply two fine papermaking lines with related automation systems and services to a customer in China. The papermaking lines will produce uncoated woodfree grades and start-ups are scheduled from late 2026 to early 2027. Valmet has previously delivered multiple other technologies such as complete paper and board making lines to the same customer.
